SYNOPSIS

It is 1984 as TIGER SUN (Julian Lee), a TaeKwonDo master and teacher, makes a daring escape from a North Korean prison camp where he has been held on charges of conspiring against the government by teaching martial arts.

YEARS LATER, in the United States, State Street High School is being taken over by gangs and drugs. C.C. BONNER (Christophe Clark) is the cruel and ruthless gang boss who controls the illegal activities. DARREN (Maiz Lucero), his protégé, handles things for C.C. at the school.

A shooting incident creates a crisis. RAY CARVER (Gary Sirchia), a dedicated science teacher, suggests a program that might turn things around. Ray met Tiger Sun when he escaped to the United States. He believes that if he can convince Tiger to teach TaeKwonDo at the school, the students will get involved and learn discipline and respect.

Ray and DANA NICHOLS (Zoë Chance), the attractive high school girls’ counselor, meet with Tiger. There is one problem: Tiger doesn’t want to teach. His students in North Korea had protested when Tiger was thrown in prison, and all were arrested. Some of them were tortured; others were killed. Tiger doesn’t want that kind of responsibility again. However, after spending the night thinking about his Korean students, Tiger changes his mind and agrees to teach TaeKwonDo at State Street.

During Tiger’s first class, he and Darren immediately clash. When Darren and his boys attack Tiger, they are defeated without Tiger ever throwing a punch. Darren is humiliated and vows revenge. Darren’s friend, JO JO (Ruselis Aumeen Perry), has a different reaction. He is impressed by Tiger and wants to learn from him. Jo Jo takes a big chance and quits C.C.’s gang.

At first, C.C. doesn’t consider Tiger much of a threat. Soon, though, C.C. starts losing business at the school. He pulls a dirty trick to get Tiger fired: Darren and his friends start an incident with Tiger’s students. C.C. hopes that the school will cancel Tiger’s classes when the students get in trouble for fighting. Tiger learns of C.C.’s plans and stops the fight before it begins. He reprimands his students and sends them home. But, it isn’t over. Darren and his gang attack Tiger, who is forced to defend himself. Afterward, Tiger is arrested for fighting.

C.C. is pleased, figuring that Tiger’s arrest will lead to his dismissal. He’s almost right. The School Board is ready to cancel the classes until Jo Jo and the other kids from Tiger’s class arrive, along with several parents, and convince the Board to give Tiger another chance.

Tiger resumes classes, and his students rally around him. Things are changing at State Street. Gangs and drugs are no longer welcome. Grades are going up, along with attendance. The kids have renamed the block “Tiger Street,” in Tiger’s honor.

C.C. is angered by Tiger’s defiance. He sets up a trap that gets Tiger captured. He warns Tiger to give up and leave State Street. But, Tiger remains defiant and continues his classes. He schedules a tournament so his students can show their progress.

C.C. is through fooling around. He intends to have Tiger killed. He orders RAZOR (Chad Mason) to pay Tiger a visit. Razor breaks into Tiger’s apartment late at night, planning to ambush him in his sleep. Tiger is ready for him, though. After a vicious fight with deadly titanium slicers, Tiger subdues Razor and leaves him, tied and gagged, at C.C.’s doorstep.

C.C. orders two more of his henchmen, BLADE (Jesse Manegdeg) and STYX (Sam Del Rio), to kill Tiger. They show up at the gym after class with escrima sticks and a razor-sharp ballisong knife. Tiger takes them on, bare-handed. He wins and stuffs them in equipment bags where they are left, humiliated, at C.C.’s doorstep.

C.C. isn’t finished. He orders CLIP (Jack Bivens) to kill Tiger. Clip ambushes Tiger as he leaves a restaurant at night with Ray and Dana. Tiger manages to elude Clip’s bullets as he chases him. While attempting to shoot Tiger, Clip loses his footing and falls to his death from the roof of a building.

The tournament begins before an enthusiastic crowd. There are spectacular martial arts demonstrations in which Tiger takes part. Then, there are forms and sparring competitions for the students. In the midst of the excitement, there is concern: Tiger’s star student, Jo Jo, is missing. Then, word is delivered: Jo Jo has been kidnapped and is being held hostage by C.C.

Tiger is forced to leave the tournament and confront C.C. personally. They fight it out ... winner take all. C.C. is an accomplished martial artist and a vicious fighter. The battle between C.C. and Tiger is a long, grueling one that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats! Don't miss TIGER STREET!
